One of New Zealand's most established chamber ensembles, the Jade String Quartet have won the hearts of Kiwis with their exhilarating performances, musical artistry, and dazzling string playing skills.

Formed in 2003, JSQ have had their own concert series, “Jade at the Pah” (with thanks to Sir James Wallace) since 2012, at which they play an eclectic mix of music ranging from Vivaldi to Hendrix. JSQ have won a special place in NZ’s music scene, catering for both traditional and modern tastes alike, all with a musical passion that is palpably infectious. They have commissioned and premiered many NZ works by composers including Anthony Ritchie, Chris Adams, Jonathan Besser, Ross Harris, and Anthony Young.

All based in Auckland and Principal/sub principal players with the Auckland Philharmonia, Jade comprises Miranda Adams and William Hanfling (both NZ born) on violins, Robert Ashworth from Canada on viola, and NZ born David Garner on cello.
