Jade String Quartet is one of New Zealand's most established chamber ensembles, renowned for its exhilarating performances and musical artistry. Formed in 2003, JSQ has won a special place in the NZ music scene, catering for both traditional and modern tastes with a musical passion that is palpably infectious.
JSQ has enjoyed their own concert series at the Pah Homestead (“Jade at the Pah”) since 2012, at which they play an eclectic mix of music ranging from Vivaldi to Hendrix. The group has commissioned and premiered many NZ works by composers, including Anthony Ritchie, Chris Adams, Jonathan Besser, Ross Harris, and Anthony Young.
