After exploring a range of musical expressions in a series of recorded collaborations with other musicians, Tania Giannouli feels that now is the time to submit a completely personal opinion, alone with her piano. In doing so, she has made a robust album full of confidence that reveals, and above all, all of her expressive musical gifts; strong melodies, thoughtfulness, clean/personal playing, and a sound universe with a large and encompasing musical horizon.
In just over an hour and with twenty-four compositions of various lengths, she manages to tell her own story in a way that sounds personal and complete, a set of improvisations that neverthelss leave nothing to chance, a note-perfect performance without a single misjudged or out of place moment. Her playing is lucid and intimate, and her compositions reflect an emotional world free of musical hyperbole and deep in the knowledge of its subject.
