Landscape Preludes
Henry Wong Doe
Released: 06 August 2014
Catalogue: RAT-D046
Commissioned by pianist Stephen De Pledge, the complete set of Landscape Preludes had yet to be recorded for CD release — until Henry Wong Doe turned his attention to them.
Wong Doe has a strong affinity with 20th- and 21st-Century music, particularly that of New Zealand composers. "I hadn't expected my second recording to be another album of New Zealand music," says Henry, "but I was delighted to be offered another opportunity to record and promote new music by New Zealand composers."
“When a virtuoso is called for, Wong Doe is your man. This fascinating range of New Zealand landscapes magnificently caught in a recording that no Kiwi CD player should be without. If you buy just one classical CD this year, make it Landscape Preludes.” — William Dart, NZ Herald
