2021 JAZZ ARTIST OF THE YEAR finalist
Saffron marks the third Rattle release for Unwind, this time as a quartet featuring the excellent musicianship of drummer Julien Dyne. Like its predecessor (the excellent Orange), Saffron also features a DVD with concert material performed and recorded in Orange Studios, Christchurch. The music is, as always, very beautiful, and once again features Hayden’s evocative ‘sruti box’ and throat-singing.
